Mermaid Forest is a 1991 anime OVA adapted from Rumiko Takahashi’s manga Mermaid Saga, published from 1984 to 1994. Directed by Takaya Mizutani and produced by Pierrot, the anime was followed by a sequel, Mermaid’s Scar (1993), directed by Morio Asaka, and produced by Madhouse.
